The Accounting & HR Assistant is a detail-oriented accounting professional dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations. Skills
Strong working knowledge of accounting software, especially Intacct
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (G-Suite)
Excellent project management and organizational skills
High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks
Strong bookkeeping and financial management skills
Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently in a remote environment
Responsibilities
Manage vendor maintenance, process W9 forms, and ensure timely accounts payable processing
Ensure proper crediting of scholarship payments to student accounts
Handle invoicing, track past-due reports, and manage collections for accounts receivable
Process incoming payments into the accounting system (Intacct)
Issue donor tax acknowledgment letters and ensure compliance with tax regulations
Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Process all staff expense reports, handle reimbursements, and file receipts
Oversee control and distribution of in-kind donations and inventory
Assist with other tasks as directed by the Director of Finance & HR or CEO
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree is required, preferably in accounting or finance
At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting
Experience in nonprofit accounting is a plus, but not mandatory
Proficiency with Sage Intacct accounting software is strongly desired
