At Regions, the Operational Risk Group Manager is responsible for managing risk that faces the Bank in its day-to-day operations. This position develops strategy and ensures effective implementation of the operational risk management program. Additionally, this group oversees key risk indictors and limits exposure due to various operational risk factors. This position may be responsible for enterprise-wide or specific line of business operational risk initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages the design, development, and implementation of major operational risk initiatives
Enhances risk management policies and procedures within the Bank
Collaborates with teams in evaluating emerging technologies and methods, recommending changes and communicating with stakeholders when necessary to enhance the operational risk management program
Implements and oversees various Enterprise and Non-Financial risk programs
Conducts routine monitoring, challenge, and oversight of operational risks across the business
Partners with business units as necessary to advise on significant new initiatives
Remains knowledgeable of current trends and determines how they may impact operational risk management strategies within the Bank or specific line of business
Manages the development of risk valuation models and measures
Partners with business unit leaders when necessary to ensure plans, priorities, and challenges are appropriately addressed
Fosters a culture of trust and accountability, ensuring that teams are equipped with the knowledge, training, and tools to effectively manage risk
May collaborate with shared services analytics teams to ensure robust models are in place to address needs
May contribute to the strategy and success of Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) programs such as Third-Party Risk (TPRM), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, Operational Loss, Operational Risk & Control Self-Assessment, Scenario Analysis, and Enterprise Risk Testing (ERT)
Manages operational risk appetite through effective strategy development
May be responsible for ensuring that third-party engagements are managed within the Banks risk appetite
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in related field
Fourteen (14) years of related experience, preferably in Risk Management
Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience
Preferences
Masters degree in related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or other applicable certifications
Skills and Competencies
Ability to effectively manage teams
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Advanced verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
Strong leadership and relationship-building skills
Strong project management skills
Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Compensation Details
Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

$245,840.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans:
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
