Job Description
Candidate is responsible for following up directly with commercial and governmental payers to resolve medical claim issues, secure appropriate, and timely reimbursement.
Responsibilities
Initiates insurance follow up on aged, unresolved claims to ensure maximum reimbursement
Submits appeals and reconsiderations on claim rejections, underpayments, and denials
Engages the coding follow-up team for any medical necessity or coding related appeals
Sets follow-up activities based on status of the claim
Communicates identified payer trends such as denials for specific procedure, diagnosis codes, or other identified issues
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must reside in Texas
Two years relevant experience in medical collections
Experience with Epic, Meditech, or Ace preferred
An understanding of revenue cycle
Demonstrate problem solving ability/analytical skills
Organized and detail oriented
Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge
Typing speed: 45+ WPM
US work authorization (required)
Must be able to pass background check and drug screen as permitted by law
