Position Purpose
Responsible for day to day site operation of campus library. Perfom routine clerical duties. Works under supervision of campus principal.

    Essential Job FunctionsLibrary Program Support
  • Implement current school library program and create and atmosphere that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of student.
  • Help library patrons use library/media center resources including computers and other equipment
  • Make recommendations for purchases of materials and equipment as needed
  • Student Instructional Support
  • Provide instruction for students and other library users as needed and help them locate resources
  • Reinforce reading instruction as directed by teachers.
  • Schedule and prepare materials and reserve collection for classroom instructional use
  • Accountingand Inventory of library
  • Process, organize, distribute, and maintain inventory of library/media center resources.
  • Clerical Support
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other docments as required.
  • Student Management
  • Monitor students and maintain appropriate student behavior and an orderly atmospere.

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
  • Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
  • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Qualifications Profile
  • Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Texas eduational aide certificate or the ability to obtain
  • Prior experience working with students is preferred.
