The Manager, Strategy & New Ventures role requires an innovative thinker with a passion for applying strategic thinking to solve the most challenging of health care industry issues. As a leader in our Enterprise Strategy and Diversified Business Group, you will drive business venture initiatives from ideation to execution. With the full support of an established health care solutions company, you will keep the pulse on our dynamic industry to identify new business investment and acquisition opportunities, develop critical internal and external stakeholder relationships, nurture innovative business partnerships, and provide senior executives business cases that fulfill our companys mission to make health care accessible and affordable for all.
You will combine technical rigor with creative thinking to see beyond the obvious and imagine what could be as the leader of Blue Cross NCs inorganic growth and partnership strategy. Independently develop healthcare strategies that capitalize on unexplored, whitespace opportunities to meet the demands of both the core Blue Cross NC insurance business and our diversified assets, including identifying new ideas for acquisition or investment.
What You Will Do
Plan and contribute to the execution of strategies to meet organizations inorganic long-range goals including acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic business alliances.
Identify and analyze possible mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and provide recommendations to senior leadership as to their potential impact on the organization.
Focus on the key metrics and KPIs that will accelerate the growth aspirations of the organization including revenue, members, service and tech capabilities and operating expense reductions
Manage and develop relationships with healthcare industry investment bankers, private equity firms, venture capital firms, and management of potential targets and partners.
Manage end to end process including identification of potential targets, the negotiation process, execution of transaction and integration planning at a corporate level. Will partner with business unit owners, finance, legal and other SMEs to ensure benefits of transactions are realized.
Manage a staff of M&A, corporate venture capital and corporate integration experts.
What You Bring
Bachelors degree or advanced degree (where required)
8+ years of experience in related field
In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field
Nice to Have (Preferred qualifications):
Demonstrated experience in healthcare or strategy consulting, private equity, venture capital, strategic development, market or product development or financial analysis
Proven track record of people management and leadership
Demonstrated ability to combine technical rigor with creative thinking to see beyond the obvious and imagine what could be
Proven track record of creating, maintaining, and enhancing cross-functional relationships and communicating effectively with senior management
Self-starter who is able to lead teams through ambiguous problems with a high level of autonomy
Ability to think beyond their immediate team and contributes to making Blue Cross NC holistically better (active engagement in DE&I efforts, culture initiatives, facilitating training, leading roundtables, etc.)
