Mechanical Turbine & Compressor Specialist (Oil & Gas - LNG)
Posted 2025-05-31System One is seeking a Mechanical Turbine & Compressor Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity with an onsite work model, based out of Port Arthur, Texas.
The Mechanical Turbine & Compressor Specialist is responsible for the oversight of installation, Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, including gas turbines, and compressors used in LNG processing and Oil & Gas operations. The role ensures mechanical reliability to minimize downtime and optimize production.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical oversight of installation, alignment, and assembly of LNG turbines and compressors.
Conduct routine and predictive maintenance on rotating equipment such as axial and centrifugal compressors.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures, vibration issues, and performance inefficiencies.
Installation of turbine and compressor components, including bearings, seals, and rotors.
Ensure precise alignment using laser and dial indicator methods.
Interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals for repairs and modifications.
Work with OEM equipment from manufacturers like Baker Hughes.
Collaborate with operations and reliability teams to optimize equipment performance.
Comply with safety standards, LNG plant protocols, and industry regulations (API, ASME).
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong knowledge of cryogenic processes and LNG-specific rotating equipment.
Expertise in vibration analysis, alignment techniques, and troubleshooting methods.
Hands-on experience with gas/steam turbines, axial compressors, and centrifugal pumps.
Familiarity with LNG liquefaction trains, refrigerant compressors, and gas expanders.
Strong safety awareness, including PTW (Permit to Work) and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
Ensure all OEM quality hold points are adhered to.
