System Support Engineer (Remote)

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Remote System Support Engineer to manage and support enterprise IT systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, VMware, Veeam, Microsoft Exchange, Intune, anti-spam, and antivirus solutions. This role will be responsible for providing Tier 2/3 support, managing systems in hybrid cloud environments, and ensuring operational reliability and security.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for infrastructure issues (servers, email, cloud, security, and virtualization).
  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure services, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and access management.
  • Maintain and monitor VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter), ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Manage Microsoft Exchange Server (on-premises and/or Exchange Online), handling mailbox management, transport rules, and email delivery issues.
  • Configure and support Microsoft Intune for device management, compliance policies, application deployment, and endpoint security.
  • Manage and troubleshoot anti-spam and email security solutions (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Proofpoint,Barracuda).
  • Administer and monitor antivirus/endpoint protection platforms (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Sophos, Trend Micro,kaspersky).
  • Perform backup and restore operations using Veeam Backup & Replication, and validate recovery strategies.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams for system upgrades, patch management, and service improvements.
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, standard operating procedures, and support tasks.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents or outages as needed.
    Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of experience in systems support or infrastructure administration.
  • Proficiency in the following technologies:
  • Microsoft Azure (VMs, storage, RBAC, virtual networks)
  • VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
  • Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Microsoft Exchange (2016/2019 or Exchange Online)
  • Microsoft Intune (device compliance, configuration profiles, app deployment)
  • Email security/anti-spam solutions (e.g., Defender for O365, Mimecast)
  • Antivirus/endpoint protection (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Sophos)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and system management.
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles and endpoint protection.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar security certification
  • Experience supporting hybrid Exchange environments (on-prem and cloud).
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based service management tools and processes.
