The Elementary Behavior Interventionist plays a critical role in supporting students with behavioral needs by implementing evidence-based strategies and collaborating with educators to foster a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate holds a Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS 1 endorsement and has a minimum of five years of experience in special education. They possess a strong understanding of special education service delivery, behavioral intervention, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized behavior intervention plans, conducting functional behavioral assessments, and providing progress monitoring. The interventionist will also train and support classroom staff in implementing effective strategies, conduct student observations and assessments, and stay informed on best practices through research and professional development. Additionally, they will model and coach teachers to enhance classroom management and student support.
