Working in a fast-paced environment, we collaborate with cloud and mobile engineers to implement new features and maintain a secure and stable application experience for our users.Key ResponsibilitiesThis position is a hybrid role, based onsite 3 days a week at our office in Minneapolis, MN.In this role, your primary responsibilities will include the following:
- Implement new features in existing mobile applications for iOS
- Triage, debug and resolve software issues found in the mobile applications
- Lead and innovate in projects that are not fully defined and influence direction as appropriate
- Collaborate with other mobile engineers from around the world to create simple and scalable solutions for new features and improvements to existing functionality
- Write clean code and follow best practices with excellent test automation coverage
- Proactively identify areas for improvement/strategy within team area, and clearly communicate action plans across teams and cultures
- Participate in peer code reviews and scrums
- Mentor other engineers and provide direction to more junior members of the team
- Work within established infrastructure and quickly become familiar with SmartThings' tools and systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in software development
- iOS native application development using Swift
- iOS UI development with SwiftUI and UIKit
- Experience with Swift Combine
- Familiarity with persisting data locally on devices using Core Data or SQL
- Understanding state management and the architectural design patterns for handling data management
- Experience creating unit and functional tests
- Architectural patterns: MVC, MVVM, MVP
- Experience with Git or Github/Gitlab, Pull Requests and Rebasing
- Ability to lead projects that are not fully defined and influence direction as appropriate
- Ability to work well in diverse, team-focused environments across multiple time zones
- Excellent communication skills. Comfortable presenting content to audiences at varied levels
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, deadline driven, collaborative and iterative programming environment
- A passion for continuous learning and understanding
- Receptive to constructive criticism, constantly learning from feedback provided
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions Workflows, Xcode Cloud
- Experience creating SDKs and shared libraries.

Expected salary: $115087 - 163912 per year
