Job description: Job Description:About the RoleHinge Health is responsible for managing highly sensitive and critical data across multiple databases. This data plays a crucial role in generating accurate financial statements and forecasts, which are presented to the Board of Directors, Senior Leadership, and investors. As Hinge Health approaches its Initial Public Offering (IPO), the accuracy and timeliness of these financial analyses become even more critical.You will join our Data Science team as Senior Data Scientist, working with our Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle, and Billing teams designing, auditing, and optimizing our billing frameworks, revenue recognition, and accounting processes.This dynamic role requires a core set of traditional Data Science skills including data modeling, data visualization, and predictive modeling as well as some understanding of finance/accounting best practices. You will be the de facto quantitative expert on all things bookings/revenue for the business, gaining a deep understanding of pricing model, contract structure, and billing practices.The ideal candidate will be a “jack of all trades”, willing to learn new skills to solve novel problems, have strong written and verbal communications, prioritize ruthlessly, and be comfortable in ambiguous 0 to 1 environments.Our stack: dbt, Mode, Python, SQL, Databricks, Airflow, Statsig, Fivetran, AWSWhat You’ll AccomplishWork closely with Finance, Accounting, Billing, and Revenue Cycle teams to optimize our financial landscape with a focus on operational efficiency and revenue maximization.Act as a thought partnership to the aforementioned teams, providing data insights to improve decision making and self service tooling to optimize efficiency.Partner with Analytics Engineering to architect, productionalize and maintain complex data models in DBT to power dynamic analyses and evergreen data solutions.Construct predictive models to accurately forecast book of business and client level bookings and other related financial metrics under a number of different pricing model permutations.Assist the Client success team with external communications around revenue expectations.Build anomaly detection on business critical financial metrics to ensure Billing related issues are caught in a timely manner.Be the Finance/Accounting team’s data advocate, working closely with Data Engineering and Billing Engineering to define upstream data architecture/taxonomy best practices in order to improve downstream data quality.Hinge Health Hybrid ModelWe believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days/week. The San Francisco office has a dog-friendly workplace program.Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of Data Science/Analytics Engineering/Business Analyst experience
- 4+ years of experience with SQL/Python and ability to translate complex business logic to code
- 2+ years of experience building forecasting/predictive modeling
- Experience with productionalizing data models/ETL
- Experience working with revenue, bookings, or cost data
Expected salary: $152000 - 228000 per year
