Our people represent 90 nationalities and speak 80 languages.Position SummaryThe Associate, Project Manager will report to a Senior Manager in Practice Technology - Disputes. Requirements include 2+ years of law firm, litigation support, eDiscovery vendor experience. This role is legal technology, and related applications support oriented Project Management function, requiring familiarity with day-to-day operations and general use of eDiscovery technology including data processing tools, hosting platforms (Relativity and/or eZReview experience a plus) and analytics/TAR/Predictive Coding. The successful candidate will have an interest in, and be enthusiastic to adopt, new technologies in the legal sector with a knack for task execution in a timely and responsive manner. Aptitude and awareness of the evolving legal technology and automation landscape a strong preference.The position’s responsibility is focused on the supporting, coordinating and tracking project progress and workflow from inception to trial, including supporting the firm’s internal matters with office of General Counsel, as well as general support for various practice technology projects and initiatives involving other practice technology platforms. Experience and understanding the eDiscovery databases modules and functions reports; reviewing and quality checking database data loads; processing data; coordinating projects; developing recommendations, plans, and specifications for case-specific projects from discovery to trial phase; provide status reports; providing end user support and customer service; troubleshooting litigation support firm applications; supporting other project managers in need. This position requires flexibility in work hours and will probably include periodically working evenings and weekends.Also necessary are strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment under strict deadlines, effectively manage multiple responsibilities, and meet budget and deadline demands. Familiarity with trial presentation software, Sanction or Trial Director is a plus. Familiarity with on-line presentation services like Opus, TrialView, or Legal Radius is a plus. On-site trial experience is a plus.Duties and Accountabilities
- Working with senior team members, General Counsel and/or case teams to plan electronic discovery projects for both ESI and paper files, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, analysis, review, and production of ESI.
- Working with internal e-discovery solutions as well as our Managed Services partner or other external vendors to support firm’s internal as well as client billable eDiscovery/Disclosure matters handled both internally and externally.
- Supporting each project and ensuring quality and success through actions.
- Consulting with General Counsel and case teams regarding best practices for document management, electronic discovery, and matter workflow.
- Providing support for a various Practice Technology application like CaseRooms, Opus Magnum
- Communicating with General Counsel, case teams, as well as other team members on discovery management issues, such as budget status and production planning.
- Reporting to General Counsel, case teams, and management on project status.
- Providing support to senior team members on their projects.
- Communicating with internal teams and facilitating internal data collections.
- Tracking and analyzing incoming client and internal data.
- Designing databases in vendor applications and internal litigation support applications.
- Ability to travel domestic and internationally to support cases
- Tracking time (both billable and non-billable) in the firm’s time tracking application.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; technical degree preferred.
- Project management and business analysis certification a plus, PMP or ACEDS.
- 2+ years of experience working with and managing electronic discovery projects in corporate legal departments, law firms, or any other eDiscovery environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with the eDisccovery Reference Model (EDRM)
- Familiarity with Relativity (including Relativity Analytics) and preferably at least three others of the following Firm Applications:), VenioOne, Brainspace, OpusMagnum, Trial Director, Concordance/Opticon, Case Map/Time Map, ReadySuite, Intella, EDT, eZReview, CaseRooms, Servient etc.
- Familiarity with e-Discovery cloud solutions a big plus.
- Basic understanding of managing large document review workflows, including the application of technology assisted review TAR and TAR2 (CAL) models a plus.
- Experience training users on firm applications in classroom setting a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of the electronic discovery process, including evolving standards created through case law, rulemaking, and groups such as EDRM and The Sedona Conference.
- Good knowledge of hardware and software utilized for information retrieval and archiving; ongoing deep, broad, and current knowledge of emerging products and technological solutions.
- Familiarity with analyzing data processing reporting generated by vendors and internal processing.
- Familiarity with government investigation matters and managing the data deliverables a plus.
- Ability to manage cases across multiple offices, domestic and/or international.
- Able to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to enable effective and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
- Strong presentation skills a great plus.
- Intermediate to expert knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Access, Power BI, Tableau, other data visualization software; a great plus.
- Able to manage time and resources to meet or exceed established service level agreements
- Flexibility to switch between remote, hybrid, and full in-office schedules, should the firm’s policy change with that regard.
- Flexibility to work at different times to support ongoing project needs
- This role is based in our Tampa office.
