- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Frontier’s Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional Agile teams to define, build, and iterate on new features.
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Integrate with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, Firebase services, and Azure infrastructure.
- Use Gradle and Fastlane for CI/CD automation and Sauce Labs for automated testing.
- Leverage FullStory for user behavior analytics and performance insights.
- Translate UX/UI designs into functional, high-quality code that aligns with platform standards and accessibility best practices.
- Monitor app performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Document all work for future reference and write technical specifications when required.
- Stay current with Android development trends, tools, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDK; experience with Jetpack Compose is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience publishing and maintaining apps on the Google Play Store.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Gradle, Fastlane, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config) and GraphQL APIs.
- Airline industry experience is a plus.
- Deep understanding of Android frameworks, Material Design guidelines, and mobile architecture patterns (MVP, MVVM, MVI, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Experience with Git and version control best practices.
- Knowledge of mobile security and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with tools and platforms, including:
- Android Studio and related Android development tools
- Azure DevOps for project tracking and CI/CD
- Gradle and Fastlane for build automation
- Firebase Console for analytics and crash reporting
- Sauce Labs for automated testing
- FullStory for session replay and user behavior analysis
- Figma for interpreting and implementing UX/UI designs
- Sonar for code quality analysis
- Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and how to apply them in mobile development.
- Awareness of DOT regulatory requirements as they relate to mobile applications.
- Passion for delivering intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
