As a Data Analyst at American Metals Company, you will play a pivotal role in helping us make data-driven decisions that drive business performance and sustainability initiatives. You’ll work closely with various teams, including operations, finance, and sales, to collect, analyze, and interpret data that provides valuable insights into market trends, customer behavior, and internal operations.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Management: Gather, clean, and maintain large datasets from internal and external sources, ensuring the integrity and quality of the data.

  • Data Analysis: Apply statistical techniques and data modeling to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that help optimize our operations and pricing strategies.

  • Reporting & Dashboards: Design and develop easy-to-understand reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present your findings to stakeholders across the company.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments (e.g., operations, sales, marketing) to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights that inform business decisions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and data analysis tools to improve our analytical processes and strategies.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong experience with SQL and Excel for data manipulation and analysis.

    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate findings effectively.

    • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation (preferred but not required).

  • Analytical Mindset:

    • Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable business insights.

    • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Comfortable presenting data and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

    • Ability to create user-friendly reports and dashboards that support decision-making.

  • Organizational Skills:

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, working independently and as part of a team.

    • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and handle competing demands.
