As a Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a critical role in supporting patients undergoing renal replacement therapy, ensuring compassionate, high-quality care that meets their medical and emotional needs.
Responsibilities: Provide professional nursing care for patients requiring renal replacement therapy, under the hospital's license. Report directly to the Dialysis Program Manager or Dialysis Supervisor. Document patient assessments, vital signs, treatment observations, and medical records, while escalating significant issues to the physician and primary nurse as needed. Evaluate, document, and implement dialysis orders and manage patient treatment plans. Analyze patient assessments, dialysis orders, and lab results, addressing any issues with the nephrologist. Communicate patient emergencies, life-threatening complications, and incidents to the supervisor, hospital staff, and attending physician. Initiate and discontinue prescribed renal replacement therapy per physician orders, verifying compliance with safety protocols, administering medications, and documenting all actions in the hemodialysis flow sheet or hospital EMR.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association. Minimum of 1-year dialysis experience in an acute care or chronic setting preferred. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Word and Outlook.
